This book should be on the reading list of every young teenager in Georgia -- and everywhere else, for that matter. It is a story of a 13-year-old Atlanta boy, Jack, who spends -- reluctantly, at first -- his spring break with his widowed grandfather, Papa Joe, a seasoned outdoorsman on the Georgia coast. Jack comes to gain a deep respect for Papa Joe, who tells the story of how he and his two young teen-age buddies helped save the coast from an environmental disaster. In an easy-to-read, entertaining fashion, Their Wild Island's take-home message is this: You're never too young to advocate for just causes to save planet Earth. Charles Seabrook, author, The World of the Salt Marsh
