Patti Baraks is an early childhood education teacher with a passion for poetry and children's literature. She grew up near the shores of Lake Superior and has long been inspired by the majesty and beauty of the Great Lake. She currently resides in Texas with her husband, Chris, and their three children. Her internal compass points north, and she enjoys spending summers with her family at their cabin near Lake Superior's South Shore. When she's not writing, you'll often find her hunting for agates, bird-watching, or exploring the many hidden gems Lake Superior offers. As a children's book author, Patti hopes to inspire children and their caregivers to connect with nature through reading.

Lisa Perrin-Kosmo lives along a designated trout stream in northeast MN near Lake Superior. She was born in South Korea (near the Demilitarized Zone). Her mother is a native Korean, and her father, who served in the military, is of mostly Native American (of Anishinaabe ancestors Chief White Crane and daughter Equaysayway of the Red Cliff Band, Madeline Island, LaPointe, Wisconsin) and French heritage. She has lived in the United States since the age of five months. Her love and respect of the outdoors came from her dad, an avid hunter and fisherman. She feels very fortunate to have grown up near woods large enough to explore and find wild areas, and hopes her work helps to instill a love for wild areas and all that lives in them, from the tiny mouse to the majestic moose.
