Adventures in the Sky

This story is about two young clouds who are moving through the sky for the first time. They laugh and have fun, and they decide to become friends. Due to very strong winds, they are separated from each other.

Their journey begins as they look for each other throughout the sky. Along the way, they meet many wise and encouraging clouds who teach them the importance of having faith, love, friendship, courage, and never losing hope. They learn being a cloud is a great adventure. And they learn so much about what happens in the sky, and how each cloud has a purpose.

"So now, I am a rain cloud? Is that what I am? I have never heard of a rain cloud!" shouts Cambia.

"Oh, it sounds like being a rain cloud is important! It feels so good to be important!"

"Friends help their friends when they need them. And remember, Cambia, always treat your friends the way you like to be treated."

"Do you think the Master of the Sky will help me find Cielo?" asks Cambia.

"The Master of the Sky is in control of the wind. And he is in control of the sky."

Smythe uses personification of cloud formations by inventing characters with personality traits. For example, Boomer, the Lightning and Thunder Cloud from Nimbus-Ville, teaches Cambia, all about lightning and thunder. Meanwhile, Cielo learns all about being a snow-making cloud from Zapada, the Big Snow Cloud.
