In 1976, he founded the Maxillofacial Prosthodontic Center at the UCLA School of Dentistry, a pioneering institution that has trained over 125 maxillofacial prosthodontists over four decades. His international acclaim as a leader in this field is firmly established, not only through his direct contributions but also through his mentorship and editorial leadership. Beumer co-authored the first edition of this textbook alongside Drs. Curtis and Firtell, solidifying its position as the cornerstone for maxillofacial rehabilitation. As editor of subsequent editions and now as Distinguished Professor Emeritus, Beumer continues to play a pivotal role in advancing interdisciplinary care, having mentored Drs.
