En af hans (Brosblls) tidligste Erindringer fra Hjemmet er, at der paa Vggen i Storstuen hang et Billede af Ole Svendsen Bakke, den tapre Klokker fra Id, der blev bermt som Partignger i den store nordiske Krig under Karl den Tolvtes Indfald i Norge. Formodentlig er Ole Svendsen Bakke Farfader til Brosblls Moder, den norske Prstedatter, Ursula Svendsen, og saaledes i dobbelt Forstand Stamfader til vor danske Gjngehvding, idet Duften af den tapre Klokkers Bedrifter saa at sige aflagredes i dette Hjem. Nordost for Frederikshald i den sydstlige Deel af Norge bryder Tisteelvens Tillb sig dundrende Baner mellem Fjeldene, snart i skummende Fossefald, snart i sindigere Lb, indtil den efter Skonningfossens lange Vandfald, og forenet med Oplandenes rige Vandaarer, som en ret anseelig Flod glider gjennem Staden Frederikshald, for tilsidst gjennem de saakaldte Vasdrag at strmme ud i sidere Egne og finde sit Udlb i Havet gjennem Svinesund lidt Nord for Dynekilen og den svenske Skjrgaard. Oppe i de uveibare og mrke Skove Nord for Frederikshald laa i Vinteren 1716 to rdmalede Trhuse paa hver sin Side af en Klft, der sendte et altid skummende Tillb til Tisteelven. Trhuset tilhire var stort og grundmuret med tilhrende rdmalede Stolpebode. I Norge reises sdvanlig endnu i Dag disse Boder paa Stolper til Opbevaring af Fdemidler, Flsk, Korn, Fladbrd, Tyndbrd o. s. v., for at sikre Forraadene mod Rotterne.
