Antonio José Ponte (Matanzas, Cuba, 1964) es poeta, narrador y ensayista, una de las voces más críticas de la literatura cubana contemporánea. Su obra se caracteriza por indagar en la memoria, la ruina y la vigilancia cultural en Cuba. Entre sus títulos más importantes se encuentran: La fiesta vigilada, Asiento en las ruinas, Un arte de hacer ruinas y otros cuentos, El libro perdido de los origenistas, Contrabando de sombras y El abrigo de aire.


Expulsado en 2003 de la Unión Nacional de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba por sus posturas críticas hacia el régimen, desde 2007 reside en Madrid, donde codirige la publicación digital Diario de Cuba. Su escritura combina ensayo, narrativa y poesía, con un estilo que mezcla reflexión política y exploración estética.






Antonio José Ponte (Matanzas, Cuba, 1964) is a poet, storyteller, and essayist, one of the most critical voices in contemporary Cuban literature. His work is characterized by exploring memory, ruin, and cultural surveillance in Cuba. Among his most important titles are: La fiesta vigilada, Asiento en las ruinas, An Art of Making Ruins and Other Stories, The Lost Book of the Origenistas, Contraband of Shadows, and The Coat of Air.


Expelled in 2003 from the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba for his critical stance toward the regime, since 2007 he has lived in Madrid, where he co-directs the digital publication Diario de Cuba. His writing combines essay, narrative, and poetry, with a style that blends political reflection and aesthetic exploration.
