Essays on the Latin Orient

This volume consists of articles and monographs upon the Latin Orient and Balkan history, published between 1897 and the present year. For kind permission to reprint them in collected form I am indebted to the editors and proprietors of The Quarterly Review, The English Historical Review, The Journal of Hellenic Studies, Die Byzantinische Zeitschrift, The Westminster Review, The Gentlemans Magazine, and The Journal of the British and American Archological Society of Rome. Far too little attention has been paid to the history of Greece under foreign domination, for which large materials have been collected since Finlay wrote his great work. Yet, even in the darkest hours of bondage, the annals of Greece can scarcely fail to interest the admirers of ancient Hellas. ......Buy Now (To Read More)
