This is how Mamita comes to life--a novel that intertwines two intimate relationships: the memory of the love between parents and their kids and the very process of writing. Through walks around the city, recollections from the Amazon jungle, and metafictional reflections, the writer-son explores the nature of his family ties, the social and racial tensions that permeate them, and the indelible mark of death. Gustavo Rodríguez nació en Lima en 1968. Ha publicado las novelas La furia de Aquiles (2001), La risa de tu madre (2003), La semana tiene siete mujeres (2010), Cocinero en su tinta (2012), República de La Papaya (2016), Te escribí mañana (2016), Madrugada (Alfaguara, 2018) y Treinta kilómetros a la medianoche (2022), y el volumen de relatos Trece mentiras cortas (2006). También es autor de libros infantiles y juveniles que se leen en las escuelas, y de Machista con hijas (2021), basado en su pódcast homónimo, que ha tenido un marcado éxito en Iberoamérica. En Traducciones Peruanas (2008) se reúnen varios de sus artículos publicados en El Comercio. Su libro Cien cuyes se alzó con el Premio Alfaguara de novela 2023.
