Fazio, Susan: - Sue Fazio's story begins on a farm in Ohio, where she grew up alongside three brothers and a sister, surrounded by wide-open spaces and a deep sense of family. Golf was nowhere in sight. It would enter her life much later, after she married Tom Fazio-and even then, it would take another forty years before the game gently found its way into her heart.In the years in between, Sue built a rich and beautifully full life. She raised six children while earning her doctorate in education, taught at UNC Asheville, and created small businesses that reflected her love of creativity and community, including a paint-your-own pottery studio and a juice bar. What began as volunteering in her children's schools quietly grew into a lifelong devotion to serving others.Her generosity has touched many corners of her community. Sue served on the Alliance for Boys & Girls Clubs of America and gave her time to Mainstay, a domestic violence center. In 1993, she and Tom helped bring a dream to life by founding the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County. Sue shaped its arts program and wrote the grants that helped open its doors-creating a place where children could feel safe, inspired, and seen.That same year, she picked up a paintbrush.What began as a simple creative outlet became something much more meaningful. Through her art, Sue has raised over $700,000 to support the Boys & Girls Club. Today, her creative spirit continues to expand into pottery, and in December 2025, she opened the Sue Fazio Art Gallery on Main Street in Hendersonville-a space filled with color, joy, and purpose.At the heart of it all is gratitude. Sue lives with a deep appreciation for life's blessings and a desire to give back in every way she can.This book grows out of that same spirit.
