Christopher Coe was a contemporary and friend of authors like Amy Hempel and Lynne Tillman, and a student of Gordon Lish. Such Times is his masterpiece; perhaps the defining novel of the AIDS era and a foundational work of gay literature. About the Author
CHRISTOPHER COE (1952-1994) was the author of two lauded novels, I Look Divine, and Such Times. He grew up in Portland and lived in New York City, dying of AIDS-related complications on September 6, 1994 at the age of forty-one.
