A lonely, intrepid fisherman. A sacred fish. A one-legged pirate. And the loneliest whale ever to live.

The Book of Ribbner is at once a young woman's spiritual journey from tragic loss to salvation, and humanity's broader trek from its harmonious connection with nature to its unsustainable discord with the earth.

This epic adventure spans several continents, taking readers on a harrowing journey from Sweden to Cape Verde, deep into the Amazon Basin, across the Seychelles, and finally to a climactic destination in Bhutan. Here, Hannah Ribbner-a professional fisherman and photographer-experiences a profound spiritual revelation while facing a humanity-altering choice: Will she kill the Last Sacred Golden Mahseer?

Along the way, inspired by the haunting song of the loneliest whale to ever live, Hannah encounters scallywags, pirate hunters, fish killers, and a modern-day Blackbeard named Edwin Finch Odershop ("Chop"), a South Carolinian searching for the same resolution as Hannah: love's lost harmony.

The Book of Ribbner is a rich, timely religious allegory of humanity's battle for its soul in the age of artificial intelligence.

About the Author
Vergnolle, Ronnie: - Ronnie Vergnolle grew up roaming barefoot through the South Carolina wilderness, exploring his mystical connections with nature until the gravity of modern digital life slowly pulled him away from his connectedness. After earning a BA in English literature from the Citadel and a JD/LLM from Duke University Law School (Go Blue Devils!), he pursued an entrepreneurial career, ultimately culminating in the sale of the business he created with his wife, Britt. Liberated, he set out on a three year fishing journey to the most remote parts of the world to reconnect. Thus began The Book of Ribbner.
