About the Author
DuBois, Amanda: - Amanda DuBois started her career as a registered nurse before becoming a lawyer. She has practiced in the areas of medical malpractice and divorce and family law. She founded Civil Survival Project, an organization that teaches advocacy skills to formerly incarcerated individuals. In addition to running an active litigation practice, she is also the vice president of the board of the Public Defender Association in Seattle, the president of the board of Civil Survival Project, and a member of the boards of Freedom Education Project Puget Sound and Uplift International. She is a former president of the Women's Funding Alliance and a member of the Women Presidents' Organization. DuBois has created an online curriculum that teaches basic legal survival skills to marginalized individuals. She lives and practices law in Seattle. This is her first novel.
