This book was written to provide an in-depth study of the Danish and Norwegian armies of the Napoleonic Wars. The goal was to provide a working document which is as accurate as possible, covering the uniforms of these armies, their weapons and their evolution as well as their colors and a look at their basic tactics. Although this is principally a uniform book, historical background is also provided to place the details in their context.

This first volume covers the uniforms of the High Command, Guard, and Line and Light Infantry, their arms, equipment, and colors.

The product of five years of research, this study grew out of the author's desire to provide a reference for friends who were painting Danish wargames figures. It soon became apparent that very little was written on the subject in English and this led to extensive research and consultation with experts including Alan Perry of Perry Miniatures and J rgen Koefoed Larsen. Every effort has been made to reconcile conflicting sources, rather than risk perpetuating myths and errors, and the result is a comprehensive and lavishly-illustrated reference work on this significant but often-overlooked Napoleonic army.

About the Author
Wilson, David A.: - "David Alan Wilson was born of mixed Irish, British and Scots origins and was educated at Greenshaw High School, in Surrey, England, specializing in the History of Art, ancient English literature, printing, technical drawing, sculpture, and painting. He worked in the wine trade, and in April 1974 he signed up for voluntary military service in C Squadron (The Sharpshooters), The Royal Yeomanry. After visiting France several times, he returned there definitely in 1977 to learn French in situ. This is where his passion for history and historical modeling really took off after he was introduced to Teddy Suren of Willie figures who not only taught him about sculpting, but also how to organize research. He became more and more interested in both civil and military history, with special interests in the Ancien Régime - including several years in an association of historical re-enactors, specializing in 18th century animations for historical sites - and Scandinavian history. He retired from full time work in June 2019 to devote more time to historical research and writing."
