About the Author

Claudia Martin has written extensively for children and young adults. She specializes in books on geography, history, technology, current affairs and the natural world. She lives in London.

Martin Redfern has always been dedicated to explaining science to a wide audience. For many years he worked for the BBC on a wide variety of radio broadcasts. He has written articles for New Scientist, The Economist, and many national newspapers and has been shortlisted for the Aventis Junior Science Book Prize.
