Having the world famous novelist Leon Uris for a father had its downside. Kidnapped in Hollywood at age one, evacuated from Israel during the Suez Crisis, threatened by Arab nations and French assassins. Fueled by intrigue and ever present danger, Michael created an imaginary world distanced from a typical adolescence. At age fifteen, he unintentionally crossed boundaries of decency with his father's trophy wife. The triangle shattered three lives. Abandoned to face life without his mentor, Michael befriended his destructive alter ego. Making an effort to reunite with his son, Leon invited sixteen-year old Michael on a global research trip including Austria, Afghanistan and Pakistan. And the two began an incredible journey that was destined to either destroy or mend what little remained of their relationship.

About the Author
Michael currently lives on the Monterey Peninsula, the same natural setting that inspired John Steinbeck. Having had a lifelong working association with his novelist father Leon Uris, Michael grew up in a literary atmosphere some may consider privileged. As with everything in life, he experienced equal shares of happiness and heartbreak, honor and disgrace. Michael assisted his father with interviews and research, and this facilitated the evolution of his own writing process. A philosopher and naturalist at heart, Michael spends his days writing in a studio that overlooks the rugged California coastline. Read Michael's blog at: www.michaelcadyuris.com
