Throughout the chapters of Vessel for Thy Power, Book I, S. J. Authority, in his debut coming-of-age fantasy novel, crafts a unique universe filled with strong-willed characters facing very human moral dilemmas relatable to all of us. Vessel is the exciting first installment of the series.

In a war fought over myths and legends. With each passing day, the stakes rise higher for land, freedom, and even legends. Many people are drawn into the conflict, including the self-proclaimed free town of Bhall-Duraht. As two young brothers hope to reclaim their town and rescue their parents from an enemy empire, they confront powers they once considered myth.

DIVINITY. A CHANCE for mortals to play god and attempt to mimic their creator. In the Abode, the home of the god Yehowehel, there was a great war that fractured the very heavens. Legends say that a Great Sword broke apart, bearing the spirits of mighty Vehem warriors, and fell to the physical plane. Prophets all over the continent of Dominius prophesied that the fractured Blade served as keys to Leruam Pol, the hidden gate in the inaccessible center of the continent. Each of the great countries came together to discuss the possibility of finding them together. At the table was the Illisia, the southern region of the continent, which consisted of Setas-Li, the regional leader; Utopia, Shatersus, and Zaberas. Along with the Illisians were the Hericons, the northern countries: Seplechurus, their regional leader; Delfizcan, Sez- Maraness, and Kuto. While the majority of the Illisan countries wanted to band together and search for the Keys together, the Hericonian countries wished to gather the Divinity for themselves, hoping to fight prior transgressions. The Illisia, soon following the same method, engaged in an all-out war with their northern neighbors. The peaceful breezes of Dominius re- gressed into the torrential wails of battle. Open, beautiful fields became graves, gardens became battlefields, and havens became workplaces for the healers. But while the nations raged against one another. A smaller, personal 4 S.J. AUTHORITY story was unfolding. Jace and his brother, Aidan, had their lives com- pletely ripped away. The war found its way to the south, to the small, independent town of Bhall-Duraht. In the event so aptly named the Massacre of Bhall-Duraht, Jace and Aidan found out their small town was not so independent and far from the war as they thought. Their parents' fate was unknown: they either burned to death along with some of the screaming villagers or beaten and taken as slaves to be used as pawns in the mindless game of the nations. So many fates were unknown, including that of their beloved friend Serenity, who was a sickly outcast with a heart of gold. The brothers, unknowing of the fates of their family and friends, have sworn on their lives to find out, and to avenge all who have already dearly suffered the savagery of war, now spreading across the continent. Unbeknownst to them, their parents, Caesar and Roselyn, had already trained them for such a time as this. Now, the time has arrived. And they must deliver.
